You know how much we love our dogs, and what we’ve gone through with Bosley. Michael and I wanted to share some tips we’ve learned over the years from dealing with pet emergencies. These are generally money saving tips, but also a way to stay calm & sane during an emergency!
Our four tips:
1. Find an ER Vet/Vet Hospital in your area BEFORE you actually have an emergency.
2. If you find yourself at a Pet ER, try to just stabilize your pet until the regular hospital/vet opens. Don’t do anything drastic–it’s usually expensive AND unnecessary.
3. Set up an emergency fund to cover the expense of the ER, AND look into pet insurance if possible.
4. Don’t be afraid to ask your vet for your pet’s prescriptions and get them filled elsewhere. Try your local drugstore, grocery, Costco, or even online, like 1-800-PET-MEDS
