LIVE: Feral Mavis and her newborn kittens

AUG 27, 2020: Mavis developed an acute (extremely fast onset) fever, likely due to mastitis. Her milk production has been disrupted as a result, so we are supplementing kittens with formula. After a stressful 12 hours, she’s responding well to treatment.

AUG 24, 2020: Six of Mavis’ kittens are thriving so far, but despite our best efforts, we lost Shanti today. We did everything possible to help her fight, but we suspect she had an insurmountable congenital issue. Please spay and neuter!

PLEASE NOTE: It is NORMAL for new mama cats to pant and breathe fast for days or weeks after giving birth. There is NO reason for concern, mom and babies are all doing extremely well. 🙂

Oleo – Panther boy with white collar

Shanti – Dark tabby girl with red collar (crossed the Bridge on 8/24)

Helvetica – Mini-me tabby girl with purple collar
Jura – Panther girl with blue collar

AUG 22, 2020: Mavis and Naya were both pregnant when they were trapped from our Happy Forest feral cat colony. Mavis gave birth for the last time to seven beautiful kittens today. Mama and babies will all be spayed and neutered, so babies never have to experience the hardships Mavis has had to survive in the wild.

AUG 3, 2020: Nevada was dying when she came out of the forest and asked Dave for help. Two days later, we were able to trap her two brothers, and today we trapped her mom. Like Nano, she saved her whole family. Nevada is coming back to life, and we are hopeful for a full recovery and most of all of her vision restored. Salty and Caramel are LIVE on the VIP cam at https://vip.tinykittens.com

JULY 19, 2020: Caramel gave birth to one living kitten, Salty, and one
kitten she had miscarried two weeks earlier, named Popcorn. Her pregnancy was extremely high risk, and we are SO relieved mom and baby are doing well! PLEASE spay and neuter your pets so you can prevent situations like these!

PLEASE NOTE: Everything you see on this livestream is done for a reason, and is done in the best interest of the cats and kittens. This includes nest size etc. If you have concerns, please either ask a moderator in chat, or check back frequently so you can see living proof that moms and kittens are continuing to thrive. Working with feral/colony cats means things might look different than what you are used to seeing, but we do monitor 24/7 and are confident in our methods. Thank you for caring!

MAY 4, 2020: Mercy was hit by a car at just 5 months old, and is recovering from a broken jaw. She and Grace were roommates before Grace gave birth, and have been reunited now that kittens are born. We are still working on building Mercy’s confidence, and Grace seems to sense Mercy needs a little extra love.

We broadcast the stories of our rescued cats, live and uncensored, to raise awareness about the realities of cat overpopulation and inspire compassion.

Fortunately, it’s easy to help cats like these, and prevent so much suffering! Become advocates for Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), spaying and neutering… and COMPASSION. Each cat has a story to tell, each life matters, and the more we tell their stories, the more compassion we will generate.
